My mother is Japanese and I was inspired to name my lip balm after our family name...Takeda. My brand Takeyume comes from "Take" (pronounced tah-ke) which means "bamboo", and "yume" (pronounced yoo-meh) which means "dream." And I think it describes what this whole process has become...a meaningful family-founded dream come true.Finding quality lip balm with just the right kind of ingredients can be daunting, and it's something that has always been important to me. I decided to make my own so that I can make it with the right balance of natural ingredients. I got such great feedback from my family, friends, and co-workers that I decided to make more to share with others.Yuzu (a common Asian citrus) has always been a favorite of mine as an addition in foods and drinks and even lotions. I chose to use that as my foundation essence in the very first lip balm I made. Exploring other flavors has been a lot of fun, but yuzu will always have a special place in my heart.I hope you will enjoy taking part in this dream.
